How to buy Rocket Fuel
From this site
Step 1 - choose which cap or caps you like, we like to say more is better because you really do need a colour choice for each day of the week
Step 2 - click on the add to cart buttons on all styles you wish to purchase
Step 3 - add postage - you can choose from Australian or International depending on where you are based. Australian postage is express overnight so as long as Australia Post does its job you get them the next day.
Step 4 - confirm and the magic of the internet means an email comes to us and we pack up your goodies and get them into the post for you that day
If your not into buying online you can always look for a local stockist, and if your bike store isn't on our list go down there and tell them your not buying any more deep rim carbon wheels until they stock Rocket Fuel Cycling Caps.
What size are your caps?
All the caps are handmade so sizing will vary from cap to cap and fabric to fabric. We try as hard as we can to keep the size uniform but some variances do occur.
Will fit up to a 61cm and at least down to 55cm.
I have a huge noggin or a teeny head will your caps fit?
Maybe, maybe not. If the answer is not we will custom make one to fit you exactly.
So for starters measure your head. Just above the ears all the way round.
If your bigger or smaller than what you think is regular then email us what styles you like, we'll measure them up and give you the answers.
Now if ours don't fit we'll find some fabric as close to what you like as possible and custom make the size for you. It will take about a week plus postage.
What does exclusive edition 1/1 mean?
Because we use vintage, recycled and reused fabrics most of what we have is in limited supply.
Normally all we fit out of each piece of fabric is one cap. So it is an edition of 1.
So no one else can have one just like yours. It's like a bespoke or couture cap for all you fashionista's out there.
If limited numbers is written next to a cap for sale it means we had a little bit more of that fabric available and made more caps. Even so it mostly means we made from 2 to 5 of them sometimes more but not often.
How do I clean my cap?
Ok few things here. Remember your cap is handmade mostly from VINTAGE fabrics so be nice to it!
1 - let it dry (as in if it is all sweaty let it dry out) once it is dry it may not need to be cleaned.
2 - gentle handwash only - under no circumstances should you put your cap in the washing machine.
3 - Do not use hot water, especially if your cap is made from wool.
4 - Do not wash leather - remember the episode of Seinfield where Jerry wonders why leather can't be washed when cows get wet? well learn from his mistakes and do not wash the leather.
5 - Do not use a Dryer
6 - after gentle handwash let it dry in the shade.
7 - if that is all too much for you, just buy a new cap.
Why Rocket Fuel?
Many a better writer than I have mused on the needs, why's, wherefores and what's in a name? Rocket Fuel is many things and many people attribute their ideas to what this Rocket Fuel stands for.
What it really is (and keep this quiet as it may ruin our reputation for style) is that we're really big Star Wars and space nerds and named the label after the thing that fuels the rockets to the stars. So it's Rocket Fuel as in the power, propulsion etc.
Not terribly exciting explanation I know but it's the truth.
